Jade Green & Blue Borosilicate Glass Lampwork Pendant Necklace
The price on this pendant necklace was $17.00 This gorgeous lampwork glass bead is lovingly handmade by me, Gillian Soskin, in my home glass studio using a Jade Green borosilicate (boro, aka Pyrex) glass base, a custom-made twistie of caramel, and blue glass, then encased in clear to magnify the colors. The flattened, asymmetric focal bead measures 28 x 25mm, and I have accented it with a Swarovski Erinite Green 6mm bicone crystal bead and sterling silver round. The silver, snake chain necklace measures 18" in length (not including the pendant) and closes with a silver lobster clasp. Boro (borosilicate) glass is very different from Italian and German soft glass. The colours are mysterious, shifting with the light, and subtle/natural in tone. They really come alive in sunlight. All my beads go directly from the torch to kiln for controlled annealing. All beads are inspected for flaws and thoroughly cleaned for you. I am a self-representing glass artist (SRA # S107) which means that my beads are individually made, by me, and not mass produced. I am also a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
