Back in Time...Handmade Lampwork Glass Focal Bead for Pendant Jewelry
This beautiful ivory, amber, and blue swirled lampwork focal bead is made lovingly by me, Gillian Soskin, in my home glass studio in London, Ontario, Canada. I could look at this bead for hours, and it will make a gorgeous OOAK pendant! I have used Italian and German glass, swirled at depth and encased in clear glass to magnify the colours. The camera just can't capture the depth of color in this bead....it's gorgeous! The ivory ends are not encased so it gives the impression of looking through a window, or into a pool of water. I've swirled silvered marble glass to complete the effect. This large, barrel-shaped focal bead measures 22 x 18mm in size and is made on a 3/32" mandrel. The bead hole measures 2.4mm in diameter. All my beads go directly from the torch to kiln for controlled annealing. All beads are inspected for flaws and thoroughly cleaned for you. I am a self-representing glass artist (SRA # S107) which means that my beads are individually made, by me, and not mass produced. I am also a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
