Blue Dreamer Glass Beads-Borosilicate Lampwork Bead Pair
Glass Beads: Quantity 2 Color: Blues, Ambers Size: 14 x 6mm Shape: Donut, Rondelle Composition: Borosilicate Glass This gorgeous lampwork glass bead pair is lovingly handmade by me, Gillian Soskin, in my home glass studio using borosilicate (boro, aka Pyrex) glass, a blend of blues and amber frit blended together, encased in clear to magnify the effect. Be sure to click on the images to see them fully. The donut-shaped beads measure 14 x 6mm, and are made on 3/32" mandrels. The bead holes are 2.4mm in diameter. Boro (borosilicate) glass is very different from Italian and German soft glass. The colours are mysterious, shifting with the light, and subtle/natural in tone. They really come alive in sunlight. My photos are taken indoors in a light box with natural lighting and a macro lens. The pictures have been enlarged so please check the size of the bead. I have not enhanced the colours with photo-editing but keep in mind monitors can show colours differently. All my beads go directly from the torch to kiln for controlled annealing. All beads are inspected for flaws and thoroughly cleaned for you. I am a self-representing glass artist (SRA # S107) which means that my beads are individually made, by me, and not mass produced. I am also a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
