Pink Grapefruit & Purple Boro Lampwork Focal Bead -Handmade Glass Borosilicate Bead
Glass Beads: Quantity 1 Color: Pink Grapefruit with Raised Purple Swirls Size: 20 x 13mm Shape: Fat Rondelle, Donut Composition: Borosilicate Glass This gorgeous lampwork glass focal bead is lovingly handmade by me, Gillian Soskin, in my home glass studio using a Momka's Pink Grapefruit borosilicate (boro, aka Pyrex) base, encased in clear and textured, with raised swirls of Amber Purple glass, . Be sure to click on the images to see them fully. The large rondelle-shaped bead measures 20 x 13mm, and is made on a 3/32" mandrel. The bead hole measures 2.4mm in diameter. Boro (borosilicate) glass is very different from Italian and German soft glass. The colours are mysterious, shifting with the light, and subtle/natural in tone. They really come alive in sunlight. My photos are taken indoors in a light box with natural lighting and a macro lens. The pictures have been enlarged so please check the size of the bead. I have not enhanced the colours with photo-editing but keep in mind monitors can show colours differently. All my beads go directly from the torch to kiln for controlled annealing. All beads are inspected for flaws and thoroughly cleaned for you. I am a self-representing glass artist (SRA # S107) which means that my beads are individually made, by me, and not mass produced. I am also a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
