Glass Bead: Quantity 1 Color: Reds, Orange, Yellow Swirls Size: 29 x 20 x 8mm Shape: Flattened Rectangle Composition: Borosilicate Glass This gorgeous lampwork glass focal bead is lovingly handmade by me, Gillian Soskin, in my home glass studio using a borosilicate (boro, aka Pyrex) glass base of red, orange, and yellow glass, swirled together, then encased in clear to magnify the colors. Be sure to click on the images to see them fully. The tab-shaped focal bead measures 29 x 20 x 8mm, and is made on a 3/32" mandrel. The bead hole is 2.4mm in diameter. Boro (borosilicate) glass is very different from Italian and German soft glass. The colours are mysterious, shifting with the light, and subtle/natural in tone. They really come alive in sunlight. My photos are taken indoors in a light box with natural lighting and a macro lens. The pictures have been enlarged so please check the size of the bead. I have not enhanced the colours with photo-editing but keep in mind monitors can show colours differently. All my beads go directly from the torch to kiln for controlled annealing. All beads are inspected for flaws and thoroughly cleaned for you. I am a self-representing glass artist (SRA # S107) which means that my beads are individually made, by me, and not mass produced. I am also a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
